Access Software Testing
A free service to Software Suppliers for testing Access software
Overview
Royal Mail Wholesale offers a free service to Software Suppliers for testing Access software. This service is only applicable to software that has been designed to sort addresses for Access 70 (OCR ) and 1400.
Royal Mail Wholesale requires that Access 70 customers use accredited software. Access 1400 customers are recommended (but not required) to use accredited software.
A supplier who passes the accreditation process will have the option of appearing on Royal Mail Wholesale's accredited software suppliers directory.
Please note: although it is not part of the accreditation, you will be expected to amend your software to produce the correct Customer Final Labels (CFL) to Royal Mail Wholesale's specification. See Section 7 of the relevant User Guide for the relevant final label specification.
Test Process
If you wish to have your Access sort software tested, you will be required to sort a list of approximately 29,646 UK addresses and submit for validation the electronic Computer Planning Report (CPR), Line Listing and the Sorted Test Address list generated by your software.
The test process involves the following steps:
Download a copy of the Test Data Contract stating that you will use the list for software testing purposes only, and return the completed version to the Royal Mail Wholesale department.
Understand the Access Test Address List and Royal Mail Access Selection Files.
Sort the test address list using your Access software.
Produce the required versions of an electronic Computer Planning Report, Line Listings and Sorted Test Address List, and submit them to the Royal Mail Wholesale department for validation.
Step 5 - Software Suppliers Directory
Once your software has passed, if you wish to be included in the Access suppliers directory, or wish to have your existing entry renewed then download, complete and return the Access Product Questionnaire.
